As we finish the term and head into the festive break, we’re excited to share key updates for the months ahead. With LAMDA exams, the Winter Showcase and the Watford Festival approaching, students have plenty to prepare for, supported by our holiday homework guide. We’ll also share QE Shakespeare production photos and welcome new performance videos to our Inspiration Station.

Term Dates:

Christmas Break:

We will be closed from Monday 15th December 2025 through Sunday 4th January 2026 for the Christmas holidays.

Spring Term:

Monday 5 January 2026 to Sunday 29th March 2026

Half Term:

Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd February 2026

Holiday Homework Guide:

With exams just around the corner now, it’s full steam ahead to get all of your preparation together. Here’s a quick guide on what your student needs to cover:

Introductory pupils: please learn your two (showcase and festival) selected poems over the Christmas holiday. 

Verse and Prose pupils: Ensure lines are fully learnt for your pieces, and that you’ve made notes for your planned answers to all theory questions. Practise sight reading for G4+

Acting pupils: Ensure lines are fully learnt for your pieces. Go over your staging and characterisation as planned with your teacher. Make notes on your theory questions

Reading for Performance pupils: Confidently learn your intro/link/conclusion. Type up your poems/book extracts and put them in a folder/booklet - we recommend A5 size. Practise reading your pieces and practise your staging. Go through your theory questions

Public Speaking pupils: Confidently learn your speeches (you can have cue cards with brief notes to help jog your memory). Make your posters/visual aids if not already done. Go through your theory questions and make brief notes on answering each question for G4+. 

Shakespeare pupils: Learn your speeches and re-read your play scripts so they are fresh in hour mind. For Level 3, practise the sight reading pieces and your hot seating.
