Twice a year we host in-house showcases as a chance for our pupils to gain public speaking experience in a non-competitive environment.
Pupils can preview festival pieces, and perform exam pieces – and get a big supportive round of applause from families and friends!
The Showcases are held in January and July.
What happens on the day?
Once everyone is seated, each child is called individually to the microphone to perform their piece. After every child in the group has performed, all the children will then be reunited with their parents and can leave together.
Does the showcase count towards anything?
No, it doesn’t count towards LAMDA exams and there are no certificates or awards to be won. This event is purely for confidence building and experience! It’s a chance for every child to stand up in front of an audience and perform - and get a big round of applause and lots of congratulations! It is a good opportunity to preview a festival piece and get the experience of performing in front of a crowd before the competitions take place. It is also a great time to celebrate all your children’s hard work in preparing for the exams - and a chance for you to see what they have been working on. We recommend lots of public speaking experience; the more often your children perform to large crowds when they are young, the less daunting it is as they grow up and the more experience they have under their belt.
