How fast a year has flown by!! We're just wrapping up now for the Christmas holidays - and reflecting on a wonderful Autumn Term we've had. We kicked off the new academic year with news of the summer exam results - and our pupils performed just brilliantly - as always. A record breaking 600 pupils took part in our Summer Exams, and in September we were very proud to hand out 20 passes, 190 Merits, and an incredible 390 Distinctions. A lot of very hard work was well rewarded and we hope everyone was very pleased with their feedback and certificates.
We were also very pleased to welcome 2 new schools joining us back in September, and proud to see a number of schools expand their Speech and Drama provision, meaning we've had the pleasure of getting to know more than a hundred new pupils in schools across North London this term. We look forward to watching them develop and thrive.
A huge well done to pupils at Hendon Prep and Buck Prep, who've performed in a number of school assemblies this term, and also to the pupils at Hendon completing their interview technique workshops with us -we had a great time.
And of course, we were very VERY proud of our QE boys cast as they performed a masterly and mature production of Henry V, at the Arts Depot as part of the School's Shakespeare Festival. It was great to see such confident performances - and we were very proud of everyone that took part.
A big welcome also to the new pupils who've started this term - at our Eastcote centre, our Stanmore centre, and our Rayners Lane centres, all of which have added extra days to cater for more pupils and welcome lots more children into our classes. We know there is still a long waiting list and we are working hard to introduce even more classes in 2019 for those still waiting.
A few farewells - but not goodbyes. Our lovely Ioana is off on maternity leave this Christmas - we look forward to welcoming her back later in 2019 - and in the meantime wish her all the best with her exciting new arrival! And we are very proud of our teacher, Sue, who has been appointed the new Head of Drama at the International School. Sue has taught for us for many years now so we'll be sad to see her go -but also excited to work with her in developing a LAMDA provision at her new school, perhaps a little further down the line.
We're also very excited to welcome Dan back, from his soujourn in New Zealand, and introduce the lovely Erica and Aysha, who are joining RM in the New Year.
A busy 2019 is ahead of us, with almost 400 exams booked for January, 139 entries for the Watford Festival, and 113 entries for the Ruislip Festival. Booking is now open for our Winter Showcase, which will this year be hosted at Orley Farm School. Spaces are going quickly -so don't forget to reserve a place for your child.
Well, we're off to get some rest over the Christmas break - and gear up for the busy and exciting New Year ahead. Our last classes for the year will take place on Sunday 16th December, and we'll be back Monday 7th January.
Thank you all for choosing RM Drama. It is a privilige and an honour to provide classes for your children. They are STARS.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Jo and the RM Drama team x
